Twaimarika works with the unemployed and financially marginalized in Kenya.

Eliminating poverty is at the core of our mission and guides operations and decision-making processes.

Twaimarika

Overview

The latest Overall Poverty results by KNBS show that the overall poverty headcount rate for individuals at the national level was 38.6 per cent in 2021, implying that 19.1 million individuals lived in overall poverty. The hardcore poverty headcount rate for individuals at the national level was 5.8 per cent in 2021, implying that 2.8 million people lived in conditions of abject poverty and were unable to afford the minimum required food consumption basket, even if they allocated all their expenditure on food alone.

Considering other forms of poverty other than food, more Kenyans suffer lack, are generally disempowered and live without hope of making it. At TWAIMARIKA, we aim to change that, one group at a time. We have designed an end-to-end program that seeks to work with individuals in the long run and establish lasting results for them, their families and those around them. We seek to empower them to enable them empower others. To us, it is not an addition equation- it is a multiplication equation.
